This is a Tesla Model S Plaid That We Wired for Unplugged Performance. This EV Went On To Win The Exhibition Class at Pikes Peak in 2021. This Car Continues to Set Records and Stay at the Top of its Class!
We were tasked with designing a safety system that could kill the 600v high voltage main battery system along with the 18v low voltage accessory power system in case of an emergency or overload. We were also tasked with converting the 18v system down to a more useable 12v system so we could run additional electronics on the vehicle. This car was definitely a challenge as we were givin access to this vehicle before it was public and we had to develop everything on site at the Tesla design Center in Hawthorne. This was definitely a very exciting vehicle to be apart of!
